For this project I completed a number of text call-outs and titles as well as the main logo for "War for the Overworld" - the spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper. You can see the final trailer here.
And here are some sample renders of the specific work I completed for the project.
I used a combination of Cinema 4D, Octane Render and After Effects for this project. The text disintegration leverages X-Particles 2.5 and animated masks in C4D and the flame and spark elements are stock footage added in post for speed. I also added additional ambient sparks using Trapcode Particular and matched the camera in AE using Cineware to import the camera from the C4D scene file. The text is rendered using Octane Render and the blend material to achieve a hot metal look, blending an emissive material with a metallic one using a broad AO/dirt shader to bias the emissive to the thinner areas of the text. Additional text elements were added in post in the final edit which is why the composition in the closing frame is the way it is.
Similar to the main logo, the call-outs were rendered from C4D using Octane. The molten background was sculpted in C4D and an AO mask was baked out to a texture that could be used to blend molten steel into the cracks.
3 of these call-out sequences were created highlighting the main features of the game.
